Install Doctor
When you hit “command not found”, a missing shared library, or a missing compile-time header, you no longer need to guess the package name. Paste the error below — the tool identifies what’s missing and gives you the install command for your distribution.
Supported Error Types
Section titled “Supported Error Types”| Example | Detected as |
|---|---|
-bash: tree: command not found | Missing command → package that provides it |
zsh: command not found: node | Same, zsh format |
error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.3 | Missing shared library |
fatal error: openssl/ssl.h: No such file or directory | Missing compile-time header (auto-expanded to the /usr/include/ path for lookup; needs a *-devel package) |
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpng | Missing link-time library (auto-converted to a libpng.so query) |
Any absolute path (e.g. /usr/sbin/nginx) | File path reverse lookup |
You can also type a command name (e.g. htop) or a file path (e.g. /usr/sbin/nginx) directly.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”- The error text is parsed locally in your browser to extract the missing command, library, or header path — your input is never sent to this site’s server
- The tool queries the public pkgseek.com API to find which official-repository package ships that file
- You get the matching
dnf installcommand for your distribution, ready to copy
